Model Rocketry

I am interested in model rocketry. And i hope by the end of this you also will be interested in model rocketry. This page will tell and show you every thing you need to know to get started and always have an engoyable chalange in this hobby. So lets get into it!

Picking a rocket

First you will need a rocket. so go to your local hobby store,amazon, or https://www.apogeerockets.com/ which is an awsome website to get rocket parts and learn.) For your first rocket i highly recommend the TANDEM-X model rocket, as it is wonderfull for a beginner and you will enjoy it for a long time. so purchase and build that or a diffrent rocket and when your done building then continue reading.

There are diffrent rocket motors!

Yes! There are many diffrent types of rocket motors. it goes from A motors to O motors but without a level 1 cirtification you can only use A,B,C,D,E,F, and G motors on an level 1 cirtification you have unlocked H and I motors level 2 you have unlocked J and K motors a level 3 cirt and you have unlocked L,M,N, and O motors.

Setting up the rocket

know to launch the model rocket you will first put the motor of your chosing (I recomend a B, or C motor) in the bottem. Next you willstuff tisue paper in the tube to protect the parachute, the reson why you do this is because without the tisue paper the charge at the end of the motors life that pushes the parachute out would end up riping the parachute. Next you fold, not stuff, the parachute in to the tube along with the cords and rubberband, and put on the nose cone. now you will slide the rocket on to the launch stand then you will get the little meatal and plastic things that came with the motors and stick the metal thing in the hole in the bottem of the motor then use the plastic thing to plug the metal thing in to the motor. lastly you will clip the launching devices cords onto the meatal prongs.

Launching the rocket

To launch the rocket you will take the launching device which looks like a box with a pin, as far as it goes away from the rocket without disconecting the prongs from the clips. now take the pin and put it in the hole, and make sure the box has batterys in it then push the pin in slightly hard and if the green light shows then do a count down and push the button down. it will launch and it will climb and when it is at apogee it will start falling and the parachute will deploy carying the rocket safely to the ground. The rocket can be reused, but the motor cannot.
